Quotes From a Few of Our Members

I first started coming to the Maury County Senior Center in December of 2007. Before coming to the center I mostly stayed home and was suffering from severe depression. My doctor recommended that I get out of the house and socialize.

When my daughter-in-law brought me out to the center I wasn’t sure that I would want to stay. However, after meeting people and getting involved I am happier than I have been in some time.

I volunteer to teach a computer class and work on the monthly newsletter. I would encourage any senior age 60 and up to take advantage of this great opportunity.

We have line dancing, card games, pool, bingo, crafts, exercise, and a lots of fun and informative prog-rams. But most of all we just have a great time of fellowship and fun. ~ Richard G. Smith

The meals that come to the senior center are filling – most of them are good. For the seniors the price is very helpful to them and it is nice to have company while eating. It beats eating alone. I enjoy the meals at the center. They are plentiful. ~ Edie Owston

The senior center has helped me with enrichment, education on meals, nourishment and good fun and exercise. Friends are important to me and a smile makes my day. Many come for rook, canasta, pool, and other things, and then get a good lunch. They might stay home and not eat.  ~ Lela Belle

The meals at the senior center are very filling and it is the place to meet people, have a few laughs, which we all need, dance and exercise. The center is the place to go. ~ ~ Carrie
