A Message from
C. Steve Thomas, III
Executive Director
Warm Greetings from Steve,
As I write today it has been five full days of everyone staying home and trying to keep warm. I have come to the Center most every day to check on the building and am happy to report that all is well. We are all looking forward to opening again on Monday. But please be careful if you decide to come.
An important new piece of information for our readers about MCSC closures. Our policy to follow Maury County Schools in weather closures remains in place. However, we are implementing a supplement to that policy. When the morning temperature is forecast to be below twenty degrees the Center will be closed. We believe Seniors should not try to get out in such frigid weather. Announcement of closure beyond what Maury County Schools provides will be announced the day before in person, on Facebook and the Website and the MCSC main number (931) 380-3950.
Looking ahead to February, we are aware that winter still has us in its grasp. Please be safe. We have a Valentine’s party set for Wednesday 2/14/24. So begin now thinking about who you want to be your Valentine. I also suggest you send a card or two to some friends who may be lonely or a nice piece of mail to break the monotony of winter. And before we leave the 14th, that day is also the beginning of Lent, which means Easter comes very early this year on March 31st.
And of course we will continue to offer a vast array of activities here at the Center for all 29 days of February (yes, it is a Leap Year).
Grace and Peace to you,
Steve
